Video: Firefighters Battling Inverness House Fire

Palatine Rural Fire Department has activated the Mutual Aid Box Alarm System to fight a fire in Inverness.

UPDATED July 16 at 7:23 p.m.

The fire in Inverness on Carnoustie Lane is reportedly under control, according to Brian Slupski, former Palatine Patch editor who was on the scene. Ela Road was closed between Palatine Road and Freeman Road for several hours Tuesday.

No serious injuries were reported. The fire began around 4:30 p.m. according to a neighbor who said she saw smoke coming from the home.

Fire continues to show from the house as crews are working to extinguish it, according to the Current Incident Notification System (CINS).

EARLIER:

The Palatine Rural Fire Department is currently responding to a working house fire in Inverness, at 14 Carnoustie Lane, according to the Current Incident Notification System (CINS) for emergency services in northern Illinois. 

A Mutual Aid Box Alarm System (MABAS) has been activated, which requests assistance from neighboring fire departments. Palatine Rural’s immediate assistance group includes Palatine and Rolling Meadows fire departments.

A fire was showing from the home as early as 5:29 p.m.
