Back in the day, my dad took pictures. He would take pictures at relatives'weddings, parties, Christmas and vacations. For three or four years in a row, we went to the north-woods of Wisconsin, Hazelhurst, just outside of Minocqua, on Bear Lake at the Sunset Resort.
We'd get home, dad would send the film to be developed into slides and we anxiously awaited the night we'd sit in the living room to watch the slides being displayed on the white walls of the room. And we'd groan as about one third of the slides would wind up being sunsets.
I am pretty sure I got my love of photography from my dad. And in continuing the tradition, sunsets and sunrises seem to be some of my favorites. My kids, all grown now, all groan when they see all the pictures of sunsets and sunrises when I show my vacation pictures. Maybe the tradition will continue with them.
