Is it Really Winter?
A look at the mild winter and some thoughts about our lack of snow and cold.
For me, this has been one of the best winters in recent memory. I am not a fan of the snow and cold and after last winter I am selfishly glad there has not been that much of either. However, there is a fairly large segment of the midwest economy that makes a decent living on winter activities. Tow truck drivers are not as busy, snow plow operators could use a little more work, the lakeland areas and ski and winter resorts don't have the snow for ice fishing, snowmobilers, sledders and cross country skiers. The poor newswriters and weather people can't make up words like SNOWMEGEDDON and SNOWPOCALYPSE.
So thank you, I'll enjoy this winter's mild weather and hope for all the snow the area can handle when we go on vacation.
