A Time to Remember (Part 3)

In Bill's 3rd installment for Memorial Day - Welcome home LCP Zach Thorton

Today I had the pleasure of participating in the joy of a local family as they welcomed home LCPL Zack Thorton from his first tour of duty in Afghanistan. Zack is a lifelong Palatine resident and a graduate of Fremd High School.

Welcome Home United States Marine LCPL Zack Thorton

On Saturday morning May 26, 2012 members of the Patriot Guard Riders, Warriors Watch Riders, Chicago Police, Illinois State Police and Palatine Police joined LCPL Zack Thorton's family in welcoming LCPL Thorton home from his first tour of duty in Afghanistan. This hero's family has a long history of military tradition, with both of Mr. Thorton's grandfathers having served in WWII and Korea.

With a police escort from O'Hare, Zack was suprised with a hero's welcome at the Des Plaines oasis where a caravan escorted him to the family home in Palatine, where neighbors and friends came together to welcome this American Hero home.

It was an honor to be able to be able to participate in a Memorial Day weekend homecoming for an American Soldier. Thank you for your service LCPL Thorton.
