A Grand City Canyon

Nicknamed "The Canyon" for it's tall buildings lining both ends of a narrow street, LaSalle Street terminates the Financial District at the Chicago Board of Trade Building.

The Board of Trade, built in 1930 is a Chicago landmark and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Until the Richard J Daley Center was built in 1965, the Board of Trade was the tallest building in Chicago.

The statue at the top is that of Ceres, the goddess of agriculture and stands three stories tall.
