Township Republicans Endorse Candidates

The Palatine Township Republican Organization (PTRO), the official Republican organization of Palatine Township, held an endorsement session for contested races across the state on Wednesday, November 20th at the PTRO office at 839 N. Quentin Road in Palatine.

“Over a hundred voters attended our endorsement session,” said Aaron Del Mar, Palatine Township Republican Committeeman.  “They listened to all of the candidates, asked some very probing questions and then voted for their choices.  We had all the candidates for Governor, Treasurer, U.S. Senate, Congress for the 8th District and for Judge of the 13th Judicial Sub-Circuit.”

PTRO guidelines require that a candidate receive 60% of the cast votes in order to receive an endorsement.  For Governor, Bruce Rauner was endorsed after receiving 65% of the vote.  Dan Rutherford received 20%, Kirk Dillard 11% and Bill Brady 4%.  For Treasurer, no endorsement was made.  Bob Grogan received 53% of the vote and Tom Cross received 47%.  For Judge of the 13th Judicial Sub-Circuit, John Curry was endorsed with 79% of the vote.  Gary Seyring received 21%.

On a national level, Doug Truax was endorsed for U.S. Senate and Larry Kaifish for the 8th District of Congress.  Truax receive 64% of the vote compared to 36% for Jim Oberweis.  Kaifish received 83% and Manju Goel 17% of the votes cast.

Founded in 2010 by newly elected Palatine Township Republican Committeeman Aaron Del Mar, PTRO coordinates the Republican Party’s efforts in the township.  Led by Del Mar, President Kevin McGrane and Deputy Committeeman and Executive Director Bebe Sutton, PTRO promotes the foundational principles of the Republican Party, namely fiscal responsibility, personal accountability and limited, transparent government, and works to elect Republican candidates who espouse those principles.

The Palatine Township Republican Organization holds their monthly general meeting on the first Saturday of the month at 9:00 AM at the PTRO office at 839 N. Quentin Road in Palatine.  For further information on the Palatine Township Republican Organization, membership, any of their sponsored events or to join their email newsletter visit their web site at www.palatinerepublicans.org, call them at 847-496-7871 or email them at aaron@palatinerepublicans.org.
