Palatine Township holds Shredding Day with Little City

Palatine Township and Little City are teaming up to provide Palatine Township residents with an opportunity to shred sensitive documents on Saturday, October 5th between the hours of 9:00 AM and 1:00 PM at the Township office located at 721 South Quentin Road in Palatine.

“Shredding Day is open to any resident of Palatine Township,” said Art Goes, Palatine Township Trustee and Co-Chair of the project.  “Each household may bring up to two bankers boxes or 3 cubic feet of paper.  You don’t have to remove paperclips or staples, but do remove those heavy-duty clips.”

There will be two lanes for processing.  Using the standard lane, which may have a longer wait depending on demand, allows residents to pull their car near the shredder and watch their materials deposited into the shredder.  The express lane will be faster since materials are dropped off and volunteers will stack the materials in Little City’s secure van or truck and transport them back to campus for destruction.

The Township Office is located at Quentin and Illinois Avenue in Palatine.  All traffic will need to enter from the Illinois Avenue entrance and exit onto Quentin Road.  Drivers are asked to follow the cones and directions to the Express (Drop-off Lane) or the Standard lane.  A driver’s license may be required as proof of residency.

Little City’s Document & Data Destruction Program serves as a business enterprise while employing its participants to securely shred documents and other materials.  Local businesses contract with Little City for records destruction with flexible plans including pickup or drop-off services.
