Legion Holds Fish Fry Dinners

The Palatine American Legion Post 690, Legion Auxiliary and the Sons of the American Legion are holding a series of fish fries during Lent from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM which are open to the public at the American Legion Hall 122 West Palatine Road in Palatine to raise funds for Legion Family Charities.

“We will be serving fried Cod dinners for $9.00 for adults and $4.00 for children under eight years old,” said Ed Grabowski, Legion Commander.  “The dinners include fish, soup, tater tots, mac n’ cheese, coleslaw, rye bread and dessert.  The dinners will be held downstairs in the Legion’s family-friendly clubroom.  A full service bar is available for drinks.”

The fish fries will be held on Fridays during Lent.  In March and April, there are fish fries on March 7th, March 14th, March 21st, March 28th and on April 4th.  The final fish fry will be on April 11th.

“We are always looking for new members for the American Legion,” said Grabowski.  “If you are interested in supporting those individuals who have defended our country then the Legion is the organization for you.  If you have any questions on the American Legion, Legion Auxiliary, the Sons of the American Legion or any of our activities call us at 847-359-1606.”

The American Legion was chartered and incorporated by Congress in 1919 as a patriotic veterans organization devoted to mutual helpfulness.  It is the nation’s largest veteran’s service organization, committed to mentoring and sponsorship of youth programs in our communities, advocating patriotism and honor, promoting a strong national security, and continued devotion to our fellow service members and veterans.
