Join the Fifth Annual Bridge the Gap 5k Walk/Fun Run

The Bridge Youth & Family Services will hold their 5th annual 5k walk and run “to ensure that no family walks alone” on Saturday, September 28th at 8:30 AM at the Community Consolidated District 15 building located at 580 North 1st Bank Drive in Palatine.

Registration is open online at http://walkregistration.bridgeyouth.org.  Participants are given an online fundraising page where they can set their fundraising goals, write a letter to their supporters and collect donations.  Children under 5 years of age are free to enter and The Bridge offers a special rate for families who want to participate.  Pre-registration is open until September 21st.

“Registration begins at 8:30 AM and the run at 9:00 AM followed immediately afterward by the walkers,” said Wendy Copeland, Co-Chair of the event.  “Everyone who pre-registers is guaranteed a goodie bag item.  Top runners in each age category will receive prizes.  All participants will be eligible for a free drawing for every $50.00 they fundraise for The Bridge.”

New this year is a Corporate Challenge.  Local businesses are encouraged to register as many people on their team as possible.  The corporate team with the most people registered wins one of the Bridge’s annual sponsorships valued at $2,500.00.  The sponsorship package includes half page, full color ads in event program books, company name on signage as well as tickets to the annual gala and golf outing.

According to Co-Chair Diane Pfister, the Bridge’s goal for this event is to raise $12,000.00 in hopes of bridging the funding gap for clients who cannot afford to pay for the counseling, crisis intervention and prevention services provided by The Bridge.
