Fourth of July Festival Provides Music For All Tastes and Ages

The Palatine Jaycee Fourth of July Festival Hometown Fest will provide the community on July 2nd through July 6th with a wide variety of music in the amphitheater at Community Park on Palatine Road and Northwest Highway.

“We’ve made sure that everyone who comes to the festival will enjoy the music,” said Jason Foltyn, Hometown Fest Co-Chair.  “We have everything from swing to country and rock from the 1940s to today.  On Saturday night, we have critically acclaimed Howie Day and, to finish off the evening, the triumphant return of one of Palatine’s favorites, Catfight.”

Howie Day is best known for his gold album Stop All The World Now which spawned two Top 10 radio hits, “She Says” and the platinum single “Collide.”  Following the release of the album Day began three years of worldwide touring after which he moved to Los Angeles and returned to the studio.  His next release, Sound the Alarm, features the lead single, “Be There,” which became a staple at modern AC radio.  According to his web site, “He (Day) is known for his energetic, heartfelt shows, where he connects with audiences through the strength of his songwriting and his quirky sense of humor.”
