Palatine Township Republican Endorsements

Palatine Township Republican Organization announces candidate endorsements for the March 20th primaries and the November elections.

The Palatine Township Republican Organization (PTRO), the official Republican organization of Palatine Township, has formed their candidate endorsements and recommendations for the March 20 primaries and the November elections.

PTRO endorses Peter Roskam for the 6th Congressional District and Joe Walsh for the 8th Congressional District for Congress. Matt Murphy, 27th Illinois Senate District, and Arie Friedman, 29th Illinois Senate District, received their endorsement for the Illinois Senate.

For the Illinois House, David Harris, 53rd Illinois House District, Tom Morrison, 54th Illinois House District, and John Lawson, 56th Illinois House District, were endorsed by PTRO. For Cook County Circuit Court Judge in the 13th Judicial Subcircuit, PTRO endorsed Paul Pavlus and Marty Kelley for the two vacancies.  Dan Patlak was endorsed for Cook County Board of Review District 1.

Endorsement required a 60 percent majority. In races where 60 percent was not reached, the candidate with the largest vote total was “recommended.”  Two other candidates were recommended by PTRO.

Newt Gingrich was recommended as a candidate for President of the United States. Jim O’Donnell was also recommended for the 28th State Senate District.

PTRO voted on endorsements for every race with districts covering Palatine Township.  Of the races, the only contested races were for Pavlus, Patlak, Gingrich and O’Donnell.

“We are excited to have so many qualified, passionate candidates for the coming elections,” said Aaron Del Mar, Palatine Township Republican Committeeman.  “With this strong of a candidate lineup, we are sure to see big Republican successes here in Palatine Township in 2012.  Our members are ready to hit the pavement to ensure these fine candidates are elected on March 20th and in November.”

Founded in 2010 by newly elected Palatine Township Republican Committeeman Aaron Del Mar, PTRO coordinates the Republican Party’s efforts in the township.  Led by Del Mar and President Collin Corbett, PTRO promotes the foundational principles of the Republican Party, namely fiscal responsibility, personal accountability and limited, transparent government, and works to elect Republican candidates who espouse those principles.

The Palatine Township Republican Organization holds their monthly general meeting on the first Saturday of the month at 9 a.m. at the PTRO office at 839 N. Quentin Road in Palatine.  For further information on the Palatine Township Republican Organization, membership, any of their sponsored events or to join their email newsletter visit their web site at www.palatinerepublicans.org, call them at 847-496-7871 or email them at aaron@palatinerepublicans.org.
