Jaycees seek participants for community garage sale

Jaycees seek individuals to participate in August 18th community-wide garage sale.

The Palatine Jaycees are seeking individuals who would like to participate in a community-wide garage sale to be held on Saturday, August 18th from 8:00 AM until 2:00 PM on the second floor of the Gateway Center Parking Garage at the corner of Smith Street and Colfax Road in Palatine.

“Applications for display spaces are now available,” said Amy Bricco, chairman of the sale.  “You can apply for space by phone at 847-604-0288, at www.palatinejaycees.org, by email at admin@palatinejaycees.org or send a request to Palatine Jaycees, P. O. Box 1517, Palatine, IL 60078-1517.”

Flea market vendors, craft sellers, antique dealers and personal venders are invited to purchase booths.  Vendor booth space is available with early bird discounts until July 31st.  Booths are 16’x20’ (2 parking spaces).  Early bird prices are $25.00 while after August 1st booth costs rise to $30.00.

The Jaycees will be selling refreshments, 50/50 raffle tickets and merchandise donated by community residents.  The Jaycees are accepting donations to sell at their booth.  Individuals wishing to donate items can drop them off at the Jaycee booth on the day of the sale or contact admin@palatinejaycees.org.  Proceeds from the entry fees, the Jaycee booth, raffle and refreshments will be used to benefit the community according to Amy Bricco, chairman of the Sale.

Every year, the Palatine Jaycees conduct numerous programs to serve the community and accumulate funds to donate back into the community through their Major Community Donations program.  Included in these projects is the Fourth of July Festival, Christmas tree sale, Best Pizza in Palatine and other projects that benefit the community and help raise funds.

The Palatine Chapter of the Jaycees, one of the nearly 100 local chapters throughout Illinois, has over 80 members and is one of the largest chapters in Illinois.  The Jaycees provide individuals between the age of 21 and 40 the opportunity to develop personal and leadership skills while serving their community.
