Silver Screen Gold featuring Peter Oprisko brings the classic musical hits of Tinsel Town to Metropolis on July 16, 2011 at 7:30 p.m. The Golden Age of Hollywood produced some of the most memorable films and with these classics came some of the most beloved songs of all time. Peter Oprisko’s smooth baritone voice perfectly captures the enchantment of Academy Award winning songs from this era in his latest show, Silver Screen Gold. Experience the magical glamour of good ol’ Hollywood as classic tunes like “Moon River,” “Over the Rainbow,” and “The Way You Look Tonight” are beautifully revived.  Don’t miss this wonderful singer with his four piece band who legendary jazz pianist Ramsey Lewis calls “the Rolls Royce of singers today.”

The Chicago Comedy Tour ensures a night of nonstop laughter at Metropolis Performing Arts Centre July 15, 2011 at 7:30 p.m. They entertain you every day on the WGN-TV Morning Show. Now let them entertain you live in all their glory, doing what they were made to do, stand-up comedy.  The hilarious antics of Sports Anchor, Pat Tomasulo, Around Town reporter Ana Belaval and renowned funny man Mike Toomey, who the Chicago Tribune calls "One of the funniest and most talented performers to ever work in Chicago,” will be coming to Metropolis for a highly anticipated show.  It’s three comedic TV personalities like you’ve never seen them before and it will make for a night full of fun and laughter.
