American Legion Holds Pancake Breakfast

American Legion sponsors pancake breakfast which is open to the public on Saturday, May 19th.

The Sons of the American Legion (S.A.L.) are sponsoring a pancake breakfast which is open to the public on Saturday, May 19th from 8:00 AM until 11:00 AM at the American Legion Hall 122 West Palatine Road in Palatine to raise funds for Legion Family Charities.

“We want to invite the community to join us for our Armed Forces Day pancake breakfast,” said Jason Foltyn, Commander of the S.A.L.  “We will be holding our breakfast upstairs in our hall.  The breakfast costs $6.00 for adults, $4.00 for veterans and $3.00 for children between 6 and 12 years old.  Children under 5 years old and veterans over 62 years old are free.”

The S.A.L. will be serving “all you can eat” pancakes and French toast.  With the pancakes and French toast, the S.A.L. will serve ham, bacon, scrambled eggs, fruit, orange juice, coffee and milk.

“We are always looking for new members for the Palatine Sons of the American Legion,” said Foltyn.  “If you are interested in supporting those individuals who have defended our country then the S.A.L. is the organization for you.  Dues are $14.00 per year or $60.00 for five years.  If you have any questions on the S.A.L. or any of our activities call us at 847-359-1606.”

The Sons of the American Legion was created in 1932 as an organization within the American Legion.  The S.A.L. is made up of boys and men of all ages whose parents or grandparent served in the United States military and became eligible for membership in the American Legion.  There are currently 300,000 members of the S.A.L. in this country and abroad.
