American Legion Holds Cruz-in Car Show Benefit

The American Legion Post 690 is holding the Cruz-in Car Show which is free to spectators on Sunday, August 11th starting at 11:00 AM at the American Legion located at 122 West Palatine Road in Palatine to raise funds for Military Fallen Heroes.

On the day of the show, registration for entrants to the show begins at 9:00 AM, runs until 11:00 AM and costs $20.00.  Advanced registration until August 5th is $15.00.  Registration forms are available at www.alpost690.us.  Registration is limited to the first 50 vehicles on a first come first served basis.  Cash prizes of $50.00, $35.00 and $20.00 will be awarded in three categories; Legion Prizes, Palatine Prizes and Spectator/Exhibitor Prizes.

“Our show is open to stock, modified, custom and antique cars as well as trucks and motorcycles,” said Carl Martino, Show Co-Chair.  “The show will run from 11:00 AM until 3:00 PM rain or shine.  Our clubroom is open to entrants and spectators alike for food and refreshments.  We hope you’ll join us and support Military Fallen Heroes.”

The American Legion was chartered and incorporated by Congress in 1919 as a patriotic veterans organization devoted to mutual helpfulness.  It is the nation’s largest veterans service organization, committed to mentoring and sponsorship of youth programs in our communities, advocating patriotism and honor, promoting a strong national security, and continued devotion to our fellow service members and veterans.
