Palatine's Art Affair in the Square Seeks Volunteers

The Palatine/Inverness Arts Council is seeking committee members to help with Art Affair in the Square.

The Palatine/Inverness Arts Council is inviting the public to help plan the 6th annual Art Affair in the Square.

The council announced in a press release that it will host a free breakfast planning meeting Saturday, Feb. 12, at 10 a.m. at the Palatine American Legion Hall at 122 W. Palatine Rd., Palatine.

The Art Affair in the Square is the council's annual juried art show and its largest fundraiser of the year. The show is scheduled for Sept. 10 and Sept. 11 in Palatine's Towne Square near the corner of Palatine Road and Smith Street.

"We really want to involve the public in the planning this year," stated Bill Pohlman, president of the council, in a press release. "What better way for us to put on a show that the public will like than to get public input."

The council is looking for input on all aspects of the show including the selection of artists, entertainment, family activities, food and layout.
