“Over the years I’ve noticed a giant step toward organic produce and the development of community supported agriculture,” said Margaret Duer, who organizes the market.

Farmers as close as Barrington Hills and Kildeer and as far away as Michigan and Indiana travel to the weekly to the Farmers Market. Duer, who also is the Palatine village clerk, said that is why the produce available is of such high quality.

Local potter Gil Davis will be showing his wares and bird houses made out of gourds, bowls and decorative pieces will be on display by Palatine artist Kris Davis.

Fresh cut flowers and potting plants will be available and master gardeners on hand to provide information about lawns and gardening in addition to inspecting problem plants for attendees.

“University of Illinois master gardeners will be at the Farmers Market each and every week to solve any gardening problems you may have,” Duer said.

And to ring in Spring with some added ambiance, area musicians will be providing live entertainment from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.

Duer said 13 different musical groups will be performing and will rotate throughout the Farmer’s Market season to keep the entertainment fresh and new.
