Find Out What It's Worth at the Palatine Library

You can get your antiques appraised at an event at the Palatine Library this fall.

Could grandma’s old heirloom in the attic be worth money? Bring your antique to the Palatine Public Library District’s Antique Appraisal Fair on Saturday, November 9, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. to find out.

Three professional general antique appraisers will be on-hand to help determine the value of your item. A wide variety of specialists, including experts on antique art, toys, books, coins, currency, gold jewelry, trading cards, advertising, stamps, sports memorabilia, and postcards will also be available throughout the event.

Karl Gates, of Karl Gates Appraisals, Rex Newell, of Rex’s Antiques, and John Leonard, of Leonard Auction are the keynote general appraisers and will be available from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Each attendee may bring one item with the exception of furniture, guns, or weapons. Registration is required to attend any of these three appraiser presentations.

Anyone interested can visit the second floor and bring an item to one of the many specialist appraisal booths that cover a wide variety of antiques. We’ve gathered many experts in one place who can provide assistance on your treasure. All who attend the Antique Fair will have a chance to win a 2014 antique price guide or a one-hour appraisal session with Karl Gates! The Friends of the Palatine Library exclusively sponsor this event.
