Battle of the Bands Applications Due April 20

Palatine Park District hosts the annual Battle of the Bands on Monday, June 11 at 7:00pm at the Fred P. Hall Amphitheater located at 262 East Palatine Road, Palatine.  Groups interested in participating in the 2012 Battle of the Bands are required to fill out a registration form and submit a CD/DVD or links to their web site, My Space page, or You Tube site identifying three to four songs for review.  Band members must be 19 years old or under to enter, and currently attending high school. Bands from Palatine will be selected first.  Bands not meeting these criteria will be given consideration.

This event is cosponsored with Salt Creek Park District, the Village of Palatine and the Palatine Jaycees.  Prizes for the bands this year have been provided by The Drum Pad and The Music Room.  Bands chosen to participate will perform on June 11 for the public and a panel of judges.  One band will be selected to advanced to the Illinois Battle of the Bands Regional competition, an Illinois Park and Recreation Association event.  Additionally, the Village of Palatine will select a band to perform at Palatine Street Fest in August, and the Palatine Jaycees will select a band to perform at their Hometown Fest in July.

Applications can be downloaded at www.palatineparks.org in the Downloadable Forms section of the site.  Applications are due by April 20.  For more information, visit www.palatineparks.org or contact Carol Lange at (847) 496-6237 or clange@palatineparks.org.
