“Thank you all for the unbelievable support you gave Haley to make her number three. And she says 'thank you' to all of you at school. She wants to let you know that she’s happy. Number three is pretty darn good and you don’t have to be so tied to the company that way, if you know what I mean,” Harry Reinhart said.

They didn’t offer details about the song their daughter is recording, but said Haley is expected to sing it during Wednesday night’s Idol show, when either Scotty McCreery or Lauren Alaina will be named the overall winner for the season.

“They are just going to test it out. They may release it, they may not. But she’s recording,” her father said.

“She’s a little spitfire,” Patti Reinhart said, noting that Haley has already refused two songs but “she likes this one she’s doing, and we hope you like it, too.”

Later in the evening, Haley’s sister, Angela, took the stage for a performance with Lizz Jassin. Play the video above to hear the Reinharts’ remarks and excerpts from their musical performances.
