The Easter Bunny stopped by Twin Lakes Club House in Palatine and judging by the 42 youngsters squealing with joy, the furry character was a big hit.

The event was so successful the Salt Creek Rural Park District scheduled a second visit that day.

“This is the first year we’ve had to do that,” said Parks Recreation Supervisor Jessica Hart. “We had a big response and we wanted to get them all in.”

The crowd dined on pizza, salad and cold drinks, danced the bunny hop and did holiday-themed crafts before heading home.

Just in time for the parks crew to clean up the clubhouse room for the second seating.
