Smart and Social Casey Likes to Keep Busy

Hi, everybody! I’m Casey, Young At Heart Pet Rescue’s super-cool and handsome Basset hound and shepherd mix. If you like big dogs but don’t want to deal with tails constantly knocking stuff off of tables, my short legs and big-dog body are the perfect answer!

I’m 8 years old, and I love playing ball, snuggling with my peeps, and making humans laugh. I just finished three weeks of professional training, and boy, am I smart! I know “sit,” “heel,” “down,” and “stay,” and I listen off-leash as well as any obedience champion.

I love hanging out with other dogs. I’m fine with cats too, but I especially enjoy my trips to the dog park and visits to my dog buddies’ houses. I’m the kind of guy who likes to be busy, which means I’ll do best in an active home where someone can take me for walks, car rides, and outings with other playful dogs. Play lots of ball with me, and I’m yours!

I’ve got a fun, strong personality, so I need an outgoing, canine-experienced family who will treat me like a real dog. (I’m no baby, after all.) To make sure we all speak the same language, my lucky adopter will receive a free lesson or two with my trainer.
