• Jesus Christ Superstar at Cutting Hall, 150 E. Wood St., Palatine

Theatre Nebula and Music On Stage put up this reputable musical, written by Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber. The production delivers an account of the life of Jesus of Nazareth. This dramatization of Jesus' arrival in Jerusalem is a timely spectacle around Easter, and is both entertaining and informative for adults and children alike. The play provides a perfect get away for an evening or afternoon close to home.

• Orbit Skate Center, 615 S. Consumers Ave., Palatine

This week, take the family out to this impressive roller-skating venue, replete with a half-acre wood floor. Orbit Skate Center offers public sessions (open skate) and lessons and hosts birthday parties and special events. Reservations are available online.

• Second Annual Honors Variety Show at Harper College, 1200 W. Algonquin Rd., Palatine

Come out and support the Harper College Honors Program as performers showcase artistic talents at 7:00 p.m. on Fri., April 1 in Harper's "J-Theatre," J-143.  Proceeds will be donated to the Lydia Home, a home for dispossessed children northwest of Chicago. $5 suggested donation.

• The Water Works of Schaumburg, 505 N. Springinsguth Rd., Schaumburg

This week, get the family out for a day of fun at Schaumburg Park District’s indoor water park. The Water Works features three water slides, a rapid water channel, water playground, diving pool and more. Open swim hours and lap lanes are also available every day.
