Palatine Jaycees Assist 10 Families This Holiday Season

The Palatine Jaycees had a special impact on 10 deserving local, and awarded them $500 shopping sprees at Walmart and $500 to help with expenses over the holidays.

On Monday night, the Palatine Jaycees proudly awarded $500 shopping sprees to 10 local families for use at the Walmart in Palatine.  Afterwards, each family was also granted a surprise $500 check to use for additional expenses.

Families were selected through a nomination process involving local community agencies.  Through support from the Palatine Opportunity Center, Bridge Youth and Family Services, Children's Home and Aid Society and WINGS, the Jaycees accepted nominations and selected deserving recipients.

This was the third year the Jaycees held this event. The money for this very special event was raised through various programs the Palatine Jaycees sponsors throughout the year.  Each year, the Palatine Jaycees are behind numerous events and activities that serve the community and accumulate funds for operation of the chapter, and community donations.
