More Storms Likely To Hit Palatine Thursday, Friday

Palatine and the northwest suburbs are unlikely to get a break from the cloudy, rainy weather until Saturday afternoon.

The National Weather Service is predicting off-and-on thunderstorms and showers for the Palatine area through Saturday.

Wednesday evening and early Thursday morning the region was hit hard by thunderstorms and heavy downpours. At 8 a.m. ComEd stated that 54,000 of its customers were without power in the Chicago area.

Although the rain was expected to taper off at times Thursday, there was a chance of thunderstorms and showers Thursday night, according to the National Weather Service.

On Friday there is a 60 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms during the day. Friday evening the National Weather Service states that there is a 70 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms.
