Images of Palatine Memorial Day Tribute

Despite the clouds and misty weather, hundreds came out for the Memorial Day Parade and ceremony in Palatine Monday.

Palatine commemorated Memorial Day with a beginning ceremony at Hillside Cemetery, with a parade following that ended up at the Veterans Memorial in Community Park with a prayer and continued remembrance of those that gave their lives - as well as those who were ready to sacrifice theirs by serving our country.

Participants in the parade included the American Legion Post 690, who sponsored the parade, in addition to the Palatine High School marching band, local area Girl Scouts, Boy Scout troops and Cub Scout packs, Palatine Fire Department and Police Department.

Mike Clark, executive director of the Palatine Park District lead the cermony at the Veterans Memorial, along with leaders at the American Legion Post 690.
