Halloween Fun: Events in and Around Town

Fall is in the air, and Halloween-themed events leading up to the big trick-or-treat are popping up all over. Here's a guide to activities in and around Palatine and Arlington Heights for those looking to get the most out of the holiday!

Palatine

Hunt the Haunted at Cutting Hall, 150 E. Wood St. Palatine. Saturday, October 20 at 2 p.m. Tickets $15 for adults, $12 for seniors. Not recommended for children. 

Ghost Walk of Palatine starting at Durty Nellie's and visiting locations of rumored hauntings around Palatine. Sunday, October 21 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tickets are $5 and children under 12 are $3.

Trick-or Treat Festival at Palatine High School, 1111 N. Rohlwing Rd. Palatine. Thursday, October 25 from 5 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. Free. 

Halloween Party at the Palatine Park District Community Center, 250 E. Wood St. Palatine. Saturday, October 27 from 10am until 2:30 p.m. Tickets $5 Resident/$6 Non-resident/$7 day of event.

Halloween Parade at Palatine Main Library, 700 N. Court, Palatine. Tuesday, October 30 from 10 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Free.

Arlington Heights

The Great Pumpkin Splash at Arlington Heights Olympic Indoor Swim Center, 660 N. Ridge, Arlington Heights. Friday, October 19 from 6 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. Free, but pre-registration is required. 

Trunk or Treat at Public Works building, 222 N. Ridge, Arlington Heights. Friday, October 26 from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m. Pre-registration $5, at the door $10. 

Tales of Poe at the Muller House, 110 Fremont St. Arlington Heights.   Saturday, October 27 from 4 p.m. until 5 p.m. Pre-registration required. Cost is $20.

Annual Downtown Trick-or-Treat, at participating Downtown Arlington Heights businesses. Wednesday, October 31 from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. Free.

Arlington Heights Residential Trick-or-Treating, the village does not establish a special time for trick-or-treat. Children are advised to trick-or-treat on Halloween (October 31) from late afternoon until early evening, and only go to homes where lights are on.
