Foxy, the Loving Pooch, Seeks Lots of Love

Sweet 7-year old beagle seeks the open arms of a family.

Hey there, I’m Foxy the beagle! Although my face and ears are whitish, I am a young senior girl at only 7 years old. I am mature for my age while still enjoying playtime with you and other dogs. My previous family, which included two young kids, had something they called financial problems and had to take me to a shelter in hopes I’d be able to quickly find a new home. Young At Heart came along and with one sweet look, I convinced them to rescue me, so I know I can work my way into your heart in no time!

I admit I do love a treat and was given a few too many in the past that have me weighing in just a bit over my ideal goal, but I’m not a beggar and I really don’t ask for much at all except some pets and pats and scratches and rubs whenever you have the time.

Solidly house trained, I can be left loose while you’re away without crate or confinement.

I am patient, quiet, good in the car (although I don’t quite understand how to jump in yet so you may have to help me with that), I SO SO SO enjoy a nice walk and am easy on leash. I don’t get on furniture unless you really beg me to because I have truly superior house manners. I love to be in the room you’re in, preferably in a soft bed or on a mat or pillow. I like having a yard but I could be an apartment dog if necessary. I would prefer to have only one flight of stairs if possible because I do wake up a bit stiff. But after a few minutes I’m bounding up and down easily!

Playing with toys is one of my pastimes, but I don’t destroy them at all, I just pounce and play-bow and toss them up to watch them fall, then scurry around after them until I decide that’s too much work and I am ready for another snooze. I’ve heard my foster folks say I’m very cute when I play. I could be an only dog although I do enjoy having my two foster sibling beagles around. One of them, who never plays with other dogs, will sometimes play with me. See how convincing I can be?

I don’t mean to brag too much, it’s really not my style since I’m an easy, go-with-the-flow kind of gal, but I am fine with kids, get along fantastically with other dogs and probably wouldn’t have any problems living with cats since I have a very open door policy about whom I like. I LIKE EVERYONE! I LIKE YOU ALREADY AND I HAVEN’T EVEN MET YOU YET!

I’d be an excellent companion for just about any family, and if your arms are big enough to wrap around me in loving hugs, you really should come and meet me. Just fill out an adoption application to arrange a visit. I’m healthy and already neutered, up-to-date on my vaccinations, and microchipped. My adoption fee of $165 allows Young at Heart Pet Rescue to help other older dogs and cats like me get a second chance at a happily ever after (And adoption fees are 50% off in November for Adopt-a-Senior-Pet Month!).

Think we’re a good match? I hope so! I’m waiting patiently, with good manners, for you!
