Five to 10 Inches of Snow Possible, Sub-Zero Temperatures on the Way

Just how cold will it get in #Chiberia?

The weather here in northern Illinois is going to be brutal over the next couple of days, as snow and sub-zero temperatures descend upon the region.

winter storm warning is in effect until 6 p.m. Sunday, with 5 to 10 inches of snow possible, according to the National Weather Service in Chicago. In addition, windy conditions could result in blowing and drifting snow Sunday afternoon and night.

As the snow moves out, dangerous cold air will move in. A wind chill warning is in effect from 6 p.m. Sunday until noon Tuesday. According to the National Weather Service in Chicago, wind chills colder than 30 degrees below zero are likely. Wind chills could reach 40 to 50 degrees below zero late Sunday night into Monday afternoon.

On a lighter note, the National Weather Service in Chicago is trying to get people to rally around a specific Twitter hashtag for this brutal weather. So far, it appears that "#Chiberia" is the winner.
