Affordable Childcare Options?

We are excited to bring you this new Moms Talk Q & A column. Every Wednesday at noon, we'll post a question or explore a topic that matters to Moms in Palatine. The column will be a chance to learn from each other, share opinions, and maybe even make new friends.

My oldest goes to Pleasant Hill, the afterschool program is run by the Palatine Park District and has very few openings.  I have had my daughter on the wait list for 4 years and it's doubtful I'll ever get her in.

I have had to turn to a daycare center for her after school care and a neighbor for before school care.

What other Affordable Child Care options are out there?

Childcare can be very difficult to arrange for families. There never seem to be enough options and it's hard to find the perfect one to meet your family's schedule and needs. What has worked for you?
