5 Ways to Have Fun in the Snow with your Kids

Got snow? Spend time outside together and have some winter fun.

We've finally got some significant snow on the ground, so it's time to grab your coats, mittens, hats, boots, and kids to go have some wintery fun. Here are 5 ideas to get everyone laughing, staying active, and enjoying the fresh air. As ew know the snow won't last long so take some time this week or weekend to enjoy. (Don't forget to top off your fun with a hot chocolate treat.)

1. Snowball Forts and Snowball Fights
Whether you use your hands, loaf pans, buckets, or cut off platic milk cartons to make the walls of your super impenetrable fort, you’ll have a blast building a snow fort with the kids. Let the snow ball wars begin! A little nervous about kids and snow ball fights? Draw chalk people on your fence or garage door and throw your snowballs at those targets.

2. Sledding Party
Round up the kids in the neighborhood and host a sledding party. Here are some super easy ideas on how to organize this impromptu party including sledding party themed snacks and activities.

3. Snowmen and Snow Sculptures
There is such simple joy in buiding a snowman with your kids. Try to build the tallest snowman, an entire snowman family, snow animals, or even a snow structure. Discuss the details and gather the supplies before you head outside. For more inspiration, here are more ideas for snowman fun.

4. Snow Art
Give your kids spray bottles filled with water and colored with food dye and then let them spray graffiti, I mean art, on the snow.

5. Snow Scream
Scoop up some fresh, clean snow and make ice cream. Your kids will think you're so cool. Definitely go grab the snow before the neighborhood dogs and snow plows muck it up.

What are your family's favorite ways to have fun in the snow?
