Palatine Resident opens PIX 5D Cinema -- Woodfield Mall's Latest Attraction

PIX 5D Cinema -- Woodfield Mall's Newest Attraction Opens!

Chicago’s first 5 dimensional movie theatre, PIX 5D Cinema, officially opened  at Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg.  Owned and operated by Palatine resident Anand Shanmugan, CEO and founder of V9 Service LLC, PIX 5D Cinema provides movie aficionados and thrill seekers the Midwest’s first 5D theatre experience.

With 36 seats, the intimate theatre will address all the senses with 12-15 minute movie shorts, including action, classic and thriller genres.  Each show features two movie shorts and is appropriate for all ages.  Ticket prices are $7 for adults and $6 for children under the age of 11 and seniors.

The 5D cinema combines 3D with physical and environmental effects for an ultimate theatre experience. The seats at the theatre are 3 Degree of Freedom or DOF, which allows up and down, front and back, left and right movement in sync with the onscreen activity.  All senses are awakened during the attraction as well, including feeling and smell, which is achieved by using a variety of environmental effects.  These effects depend on the film’s storyline, but can include smoke, fog, bubbles, thunder, storm, wind, rain, snow and more.

PIX 5D Cinema is located within Woodfield Mall, near Sears and Entrance 5.  Visit www.pix5d.com for more information.
