Thanksgiving still weeks away, Palatine church prepares for another free community dinner

All Saints will host our fourth-annual free Community Thanksgiving Dinner on Thursday, Nov. 28 from 11 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.

Thanksgiving for many people is a time for festive family gatherings and happy times; others dread those greeting-card visions because they will be alone and have no place to go. Again this year a Palatine church is inviting the community to join them for Thanksgiving dinner — especially those with no other place to go.

All Saints Lutheran Church is hosting the event from 11 a.m. until 1:30 p.m., Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 28, in the Gathering Space of the church at 630 S. Quentin Road, Palatine. “All are welcome,” said Seth Moland-Kovash, co-pastor of the church. “We know that many people in our community are alone or separated from their families; we want them to know there is a place for them at our table.”

Added Pastor Jennifer Moland-Kovash, “As people of faith we know that there is enough for all of God’s children. And that includes turkey and dressing and green bean casserole and all of the fixings for Thanksgiving dinner; we’ll have pie for dessert, too. Everyone is welcome."

“If you’d like to join us for Thanksgiving dinner at All Saints please let us know so we can be sure there is enough food,” Pastor Moland-Kovash said. Give us a call (847-991-2080); send us an email (Thanksgiving@AllSaintsPalatine.org); or visit our web page (www.AllSaintsPalatine.org). But no one will be turned away, she added, whether or not they’ve made a “reservation.”
