Driving Miss Daily Kicks of Harper College Theatre Season-Fri. Sept. 6 and Sat. Sept. 7: Harper College kicks off its 2013-14 theater season with its production of the Tony Award-winning play “Driving Miss Daisy,” which spans 25 years in the relationship between an elderly southern woman and her African American chauffeur. Director Kevin Long talks about what drew him to the play and previews the upcoming theater season at Harper. Check here to purchase tickets.

Kirk Dillar, Candidate for Illinois Governor Visits Palatine-Sat. Sept. 7: 
“Our meeting will feature Kirk Dillard as part of our series of meetings with the gubernatorial candidates,” said Aaron Del Mar, Palatine Township Republican Committeeman.  “Kirk will be sharing with us why he is running for governor.  We are encouraging everyone to come out and hear all of the gubernatorial candidates speak, volunteer to become a precinct captain, and in return get a vote when it comes time for PTRO's nominating session.”

Palatine Jaycees Host Art Affair in Towne Square-Sat. Sept. 7 and Sun. Sept. 8: 
Artists from all specialties, including water color, acrylic, oil, pottery, fine jewelry, stained glass and pastels will be represented. Besides a wide range of art forms, the weekend show includes live entertainment by local musicians.  Musical artists Pam Brunkalla, Jim Green, Why Should I?, Wex Hixson, Cath Kasmer, Courtney Sullivan, Linda Garrett, Guyz with Bad Eyez and Merv Collins as a solo artist and with Don Humbertson will be performing from the gazebo throughout the show.  For aspiring artists, Palatine Sister Cities will be conducting a paper mache demonstration.

C.A.T.I.F. Family Picnic in Downtown Palatine-Sunday, Sept. 8: 
The event is billed as a Family Picnic Rib & Chili Cook-Off.Admission is free, and tickets can be purchased for $1 a piece to enjoy food and games, beverages and entertainment, a dunk tank, children's activities and much more. 

Free Fall Festival at Palatine Township Senior Center-Monday, Sept. 9: 
Free and open to the publicEnjoy refreshments, screenings, free activities and over 20 free raffles. Try a FREE activity including Line Dancing, Wii Sports, Sit and Be Fit and check out our Ceramics, Painting and Quilting groups. See what fun programs and services we offer and visit 27 of our supporters offering their expertise ranging from senior living facilities, in-home healthcare, financial institutions, medical providers, insurance, legal assistance and more! 

6th Annual Oktoberfest Hosted by the Rotary Club of Palatine-Fri. Sept. 20-Sun. Sept. 22: 
The public is invited to attend this free and heated tent event for authentic German music, food, beverages, and activities for all. Check here for a full list of events and times

Palatine Banks Hosts Seminar to Prevent Senior Financially Exploitation-
Friday, Sept. 20:  Palatine Bank & Trust will host a free, informative seminar titled “Preventing Financial Exploitation” at the bank located on 110 W. Palatine Road in Palatine. The seminar will provide seniors with necessary tools to protect themselves against financial abuse. 

Get Wild About Girls Night Out-Thursday, Sept. 26: 
Sip, Shop and Pamper!
