Climate Change Presentation, Financial Seminar and More in Palatine This Week

September is a busy month for events in Palatine. Mark your calendars now!


Climate Change Presentation - Wednesday, Sept. 18: 
Northwest Suburbs Organizing for Action (NWSOFA) will conduct a public presentation and discussion about the reality of climate change at 7 p.m. at the Palatine Public Library, 700 North Court, Palatine. This event will feature Al Gore's Climate Reality Project slide presentation with Q&A. It will include the science behind our climate, the link between global warming and storms, floods, droughts, fires, glaciers, polar caps, oceans, food supply, water, and global health. It will address the personal impact on people and the economic impact on our societies. Most importantly it will address the solutions to climate change, why there is hope and actions we can take.

6th Annual Oktoberfest Hosted by the Rotary Club of Palatine-Fri. Sept. 20-Sun. Sept. 22: 
The public is invited to attend this free and heated tent event for authentic German music, food, beverages, and activities for all. Check here for a full list of events and times

Palatine Banks Hosts Seminar to Prevent Senior Financially Exploitation-
Friday, Sept. 20:  Palatine Bank & Trust will host a free, informative seminar titled “Preventing Financial Exploitation” at the bank located on 110 W. Palatine Road in Palatine. The seminar will provide seniors with necessary tools to protect themselves against financial abuse. 

Get Wild About Girls Night Out-Thursday, Sept. 26: 
Sip, Shop and Pamper! Enjoy evening out with your girlfriends to benefit the Palatine Township Senior Center.  Tickets are $20 each or 5 for $90 and $25 at the door-which entitles you to one beverage, lots of hors d’oeuvres, delicious dessert, NEW- free photo booth, free pampering stations, door prize ticket and NEW canvas goody bag.  Enjoy a live DJ, boutique shopping, and fabulous raffles! Tickets are available online at www.ptscc.org.
