The end of summer celebrations, including Mane Event/Taste of Arlington Heights will be held on Friday, August 9 and Saturday, August 10. The bookend events both occur on Vail and Campbell in Downtown, and they combine to make one of the biggest weekend celebrations of the summer.

Palatine Street Fest is set for August 23 through August 25 in downtown Palatine and features family-friendly activities, entertainment and featured local businesses providing food and drinks. 

Fremd Cross Country Alumni 5K Run Saturday Aug. 17, 2013
Come run with or cheer on the distance running programs at Fremd High School and the Palatine Running Community.  This is a fun family event for all ages, alumni or not.

Palatine Township's Apple Tree Campaign, now in its 25th year, collects and distributes new backpacks and school supplies to economically disadvantaged children, kindergarten through 8th grade as well as incoming freshman who live in Palatine Township. Read on to learn more about getting involved

Harper College Hawks bring you all the updates on local athletes incoming and moving on from Harper College, in addition to upcoming orientations, meetings and games. 

Orbit Skate Center is helping local schools raise money, through School Spirit Skates. Schools pick a date typically a Friday Night 7-11pm open session. Promote it and any students wearing their school colors is counted and at the end of the evening, we cut a check back to the school for $1 per student that wore their spirit gear.

Palatine Park District highlights the annual Palatine Youth Baseball and Softball Day. It takes an army of volunteers to put together a day of all-star games, food, raffles, and trophy presentations where each player is individually acknowledged for being part of a great season. Check out pictures from the event
