Township Candidates Hold Kick-off Event

The ‘Doing Things Better for Palatine Township’ slate of candidates is holding the kick-off event for their campaign on Tuesday, January 8th from 5:30 PM until 7:30 PM at TJ O’Brien’s at 53 West Slade Street in Palatine.

“We want to introduce the slate of candidates that will be running in the February 26th Republican primary to the community,” said Sharon Langlotz-Johnson, Palatine Township Trustee and candidate for Township Supervisor.  “Come out and meet the candidates that are looking to lead our Township.”

The slate endorsed by the Palatine Township Republican Organization (PTRO), the official Republican organization of Palatine Township, is comprised of three incumbents and four individuals new to public office.  The slate includes Johnson for Township Supervisor, Tom Kaider for Highway Commissioner, Kathy Allegretti for Clerk and Bill Pohlman, Art Goes, Kevin McGrane as well as Bill Huley for Trustee.  The incumbents are Goes, Huley and Langlotz-Johnson.  Allegretti, Kaider, Pohlman and McGrane are new candidates.

The event is free to attend, though, candidates will be accepting donations for the campaign.  Attendees will be able to participate in a 50/50 raffle.  Drinks, appetizers and meals will be available for purchase from O’Brien’s.

“The Doing Things Better for Palatine Township slate is running for office because for too long government hasn’t had the proper respect for the public’s tax dollars,” said Johnson.  “We understand that it is the taxpayers’ money that we are spending and as a result we must spend it wisely and conservatively.”
