A little bit about I COMPETE:

I COMPETE was born after community leaders noticed that children in our area were not involved in sports, were having difficulties at school and were involved in risky behaviors. Seeing the need, the Palatine Opportunity Center, along with Palatine Park District, CCSD 15, Palatine High School and Buehler YMCA, began a pilot program targetted at giving at-risk youth a brighter future. The program would include after-school tutoring and exposure to learning opportunities, sports clinics from baseball to volleyball and an introduction to the arts through ballet classes, music, crafts and more.

Today the I COMPETE program runs on the efforts of a dedicated staff, collaborative partners and Palatine High School Senior Students and staff that volunteer their time to give at-risk youth a brighter future.
