Wild Phlox

I took a walk last spring near a wooded area where a stream runs along Cedar Street in Palatine.

As I strolled through the grass, I came upon hundreds of wild phlox plants in bloom. Their petals were kissed with a light rain that had just fallen.

I spent about an hour photographing the phlox in various stages of bloom. It was an afternoon to remember. Sometimes the best days come from discovering the beauty in your very own neighborhood.

I love this plant as did my Mother. The photos are great. Even if our winter so far has been Spring-like, the beautiful phlox are warm memories of our summer to come. Thank you for sharing.
