Tarps not allowed at Community Park until July 3

If you are planning to place a tarp down to reserve your space at Community Park for the July 3rd fireworks that are being presented as part of the Jaycees Hometown Fest, you will need to wait until the morning of the 3rd. If you have already placed a tarp at the park, it has been rolled up and left at the edge of the park.

This measure is being taken to protect the grass on the fields. Additionally, if it rains, the water is needed on the ground, not on the tarps. Thanks for your cooperation - see you tomorrow for the big show!

And thanks again to the Palatine Jaycees and all of their volunteers who present this amazing festival for our community.

The signs at the fest said no tarps [at all]. Good to have the clarification.

I personally would like no tarps being allowed at all. Would keep some people from putting out the 1000 sq ft tarps. (You know who you are).
