On Saturday, January 21, Walter R. Sundling Junior High’s jazz band participated in the 35th Annual Northshore Jazz Festival at Glenbrook South High School in Glenview.

The WRS Jazz Band was awarded a superior rating and tied for third place out of the 15 participating bands.

Also, Nate Carlson, an eighth-grade trombone player, was awarded an outstanding soloist award at the festival.
