Readers of my blog know that I am very involved in the community with the Jaycees, American Legion, Palatine/Inverness Arts Council among other groups.  I have also been involved with the Palatine Township Republican Organization for the last few years.  Well I have decided to combine my love for the community with my beliefs on how our local government should be run and become a candidate for Palatine Township Trustee.

I’ve joined with a slate of candidates who believe like me in the work that the Township does for our community, but also believe in fiscal responsibility.  To that end, we have joined together as candidates forming the “Doing Things Better for Palatine Township” slate to run for Palatine Township offices in the February 26th, 2013 primary.  I hope you’ll support us.

Our slate is headed by Sharon Langlotz-Johnson who is running for Township Supervisor.  Tom Kaider is a candidate for Highway Commissioner and Kathy Allegretti for Clerk.  Art Goes, Kevin McGrane and Bill Huley are joining me in the race for Trustee.  The slate is comprised of three incumbents and four individuals new to public office.  The incumbents are Goes, Huley and Langlotz-Johnson.  Joining me as new candidates are Allegretti, Kaider and McGrane.

If you would like to meet us, we will be at the next Palatine Township Republican Organization meeting on Saturday, January 5th from 8:30 AM until 10:00 AM at the Palatine Township Republican Organization offices at 839 N. Quentin Road in Palatine.  The meeting is free and open to the public.

We chose the slogan “Doing Things Better ... Sharon said it best when she was asked why we were running.  “We chose to run for the Township because we feel as a slate that there is a need for more respect for the taxpayers’ money.  We feel our slate would bring fiscal responsibility, efficiency and innovation to our Township.”
