The boys’ varsity basketball team from Immanuel Lutheran School-Palatine captured
first place at the Bobcat Challenge, held Jan. 26-27, in Palatine. In the championship game, the host Bobcats outlasted St. Mary-Buffalo Grove in a thrilling 42-38 victory.
Eight parochial school teams from the north and northwest suburbs participated in the tournament. To reach the championship game, the Bobcats defeated Holy Family-Inverness (40-11) and St. James-Arlington Heights (38-21). The Bobcats are now 19-2 on the season.
