Tattoo Parlor Still a Possibility in Palatine

The Village of Palatine Council will consider a proposal to open a tattoo parlor on Rand Road at Monday night's council meeting.

Six months after the Village of Palatine Council shot down a request to open a tattoo parlor; a new request to allow the tattoo studio to open on Rand Road is on the council’s agenda Monday night.

The parlor proposal at 2001 N. Rand Road is back on the table after the Palatine Zoning Board of Appeals unanimously voted in favor of Chicagoland Electric Tattoo on Tuesday, Aug. 28.

One step closer to opening Palatine’s only tattoo parlor, Chicagoland Electric Tattoo’s proposal to open a tattoo studio in Verde Plaza in Palatine will go before the council once again Monday night.

At tonight’s meeting, the Village Council will consider an ordinance granting a special use for a unique use to permit a tattoo studio at 2001 N. Rand Road.

The request to open a tattoo parlor is Palatine is nothing new for the Village. In February of 2011 the council denied a different reuqest to open a tattoo parlor at 1709 N. Rand Road. That proposed parlor later opened in unincorporated Deerfield.

The council meeting starts at 7 p.m. at Village Hall at 200 E. Wood Street in Palatine.
