Steve Nedzel, 32, of Chicago, died Friday, June 17, surrounded by loving family and friends.

Steve graduated from Fremd High School in Palatine, received a degree in Music Education from the University of Illinois and Master’s degrees in Music Education and Education Administration.

Steve was the Music Department Chair and Marching Warriors Band Director at Lincoln Way West High School and played saxophone in the Northshore Concert Band.

He is survived by his father Michael, mother Karen, brother Andy, grandmother Cecelia, Jayme, Gabby and countless friends and relatives.

A memorial for family and friends will be held at All Saints Lutheran Church, 630 S. Quentin Rd, Palatine, IL., Saturday, June 25, 2011 at 11 a.m. with visitation at 9:30 a.m.

A separate service for students and parents of Lincoln Way District 210 will be held at Lincoln Way West High School, 21701 S. Gouger Rd., New Lenox, IL., Saturday, July 2 at 11 a.m.
