Palatine St. Patrick's Day Parade Set

The second annual Paint The Town Green festival will include a Parade on Saturday, March 17.

The Paint the Town Green St. Patrick's Day Parade will roll through Palatine streets Saturday, March 17 2012.

Paint the Town Green is a private event in its second year. It is organized by Durty Nellie's and ElizEvents.

"I think the first year went really quite well," said Liz Noe of ElizEvents. "This year we're looking at hosting the parade on Saturday the 17th so that it falls actually on St. Patrick's Day."

The parade route will be smaller, requiring fewer street closures. "I think we need to build the parade up to make sure we can fill all of that the space on the side before we close that amount of streets," Noe said.

This year the parade's staging will take place on Oak Street between Wood Street and Palatine road. The parade route will be on Wood Street, west to Brockway Street with disbursement at Brockway Street.

The parade route was approved by the Palatine Village Council Monday.
