Palatine Public Library to Host Program on Health Care Reform

Representatives from the U.S. Health Human Services Department will conduct an informational presentation with a question and answer session following.

This coming Monday, Palatine residents will be given the chance to learn more about recent health care initiatives that affect them and their families.

A representative from the U. S. Health and Human Services Department will discuss the Affordable Health Care Act, which was signed into law by President Obama on March 23, 2010.

An informational presentation will be made, which will be followed by a time for residents to ask questions, said Andrea Lublink, communications manager for the Palatine Public Library District

“We (the Palatine Public Library District) are always looking for new opportunities to bring information to residents on important issues,” Lublink said.

The program is free and will be held on Monday Jan. 10 from 10 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. in meeting room 1 at the Palatine Public Library, located at 700 N. North Court.

Those interested in attending are asked to register ahead of time because of space limitations. Registration can be completed online at www.palatinelibrary.org by clicking on the ‘calendar of events’ and then choosing ‘Affordable Healthcare Act.’

For more information or to register by phone, call the library at 847-358-5881.

If I cannot be there to ask, I'd love to know how to get a company on the waiver list. It says here that cases are being reviewed "case by case" which usually means there are other factors we do not know about or are not published.

As of December, these are business who will be excempt. You will not exactly hear this discussed in the typical media like the bill passage was, as this seems to be a favor list.
