Palatine Police Looking To Hire New Officers

The Palatine Police Department will take applications through Oct. 19.

The Palatine Police Department is taking applications for new officers.

The department plans to hire at least one officer and possibly up to three officers. "The Palatine Police Department takes great pride in hiring high quality individuals to serve our community as police officers," states Police Chief John Koziol in a letter included in the application packet.

Palatine Patch has uploaded and attached the application packet to this story. The deadline to apply is Friday, Oct. 19, 2012. The applications can be mailed to or dropped off at the police department, 595 N. Hicks Road.

Applicants must have earned their Bachelor's Degree. The department expects the selection process to take about one month. Initial screening tests of applicants will be held Saturday, Nov. 3 at 8 a.m.

We really need them too. When policemen in other towns start referring to Palatine as a war zone, I think it's time to admit that the gang infestation is out of control and it requires more bodies out there patrolling and doing cop stuff.

Doing cop stuff is a good way to put it Kelly. Perhaps less time hanging out and more time doing "cop stuff". Need to get out if the squad car once in awhile, see whats really going on.
