Palatine Police Blotter: Slashed Tires, Stolen Landscaping Lights

The latest edition of the Palatine Police Blotter:

Criminal Damage to Vehicle/Theft

An unknown offender(s) slashed four Goodyear tires on a 2004 Chrysler van as it was parked in the 1300 block of Turtle Creek Dr. The incident happened sometime between Mar. 10 at 7 p.m. and March 11 at 7 a.m. 

An unknown offender(s) scratched both rear doors of a 1999 Chevy SUV and removed the registration sticker as it was parked in the 0-100 block of Dundee Quarter. The incident occurred sometime between March 10 at 7 p.m. and March 11 at 2 p.m. 

Theft

An uknown offender(s) took three landscaping lights from a property in the 1900 block of N. Williamsburg sometime betweeen March 6 at 5 p.m. and March 7 at 7 a.m. The value of the items was not immediately available. 

An unknown offender(s) took an LG Smartphone from a bench while the victim played soccer at Falcon Park Recreation Center, 2195 N. Hicks Rd., on March 6 between 1:30 p.m. and 1:40 p.m. The phone was valued at $300. 

Driving Under the Influence

Carolyn M. Demovsky, 37, of the 1300 block of Dorothy was arrested at Bothwell St. and Palatine Rd. on March 7 at 1:05 a.m. Demovsky was charged with DUI and improper lane usage. 

Ryan J. Forberg, 29, of the 800 block of S. Benton St. was arrested at Smith St. and Palatine Rd. on March 8 at 1 a.m. Forberg was charged with DUI, DUI with blood alcohol content of more than .08, disobeying a traffic control device, improper turn and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
