Palatine Police Blotter: Salon Burglarized
The following arrest information was supplied by the Palatine police department. It does not indicate a conviction.
May 25
Peter J. Pilarski, 19, of Carpentersville, was charged with possession of a controlled substance after a traffic stop near Rand Road and Hicks Road at 12:19 a.m. Police said they found .25 grams of heroin wrapped in tin foil.
May 28
Police responded to an alarm at Aquarius Salon and Spa, 9 E. Northwest Highway, at about 8:40 p.m. Police found the front door of the business shattered. A cash draw was taken from the business.

A 2010 Nissan Versa was burglarized in the 100 block of W. King Court sometime between 2:30 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. The vehicle was unlocked. Take was an iPod valued at $150, a Garmin GPS unit valued at $200, and about $100 worth of CDs.

A 2011 Ford Edge was burglarized in the 1500 block of N. Smith Street sometime between 4:30 p.m. May 28 and 11:30 a.m. May 29. The vehicle was unlocked at the time. Taken was an iPod valued at $250.
May 28
Paul A. Rogers, 26, of Vernon Hills was charged with retail theft. Police said Rogers took a cab from Chicago to downtown Palatine and was unable to pay the $83 fare.

I'm having a difficult time understanding why so many folks are leaving their vehicles UN-locked ! This isn't the "Country" folks ! LOCK YOUR CAR & HOUSE DOORS ! It's the responsible thing to do !

Norma - While I agree with you, even if your in the "country" you want to lock your house and car doors. The Meth Heads will take off with them faster than you would believe. Many farms are experiencing vehicle and equipment thefts today.
